COSTA MESA, Calif. -- The Park University Gilbert volleyball team, fell at Vanguard University tonight 3-0 (25-17, 25-16, 25-20) in the first of four games in three days on this California road swing. With the loss the Buccaneers fall to 4-7 on the season. With the win, the Lions, who are receiving votes in the latest top 10 poll up their mark to 8-3.
"This is a great learning experience," said Buccaneers head coach Clay Webb. "We have to learn how to compete and thrive in hostile environments against good competition."
Reigning Cal Pac Attacker of the Week Seth Golleher led the Bucs with seven kills on the evening and he hit .286. Addison Henkel and James Contreras each chipped in with four kills and they hit .182 and ,333 respectively. Setter Kye Heaton had 20 assists.
As a team, Park Gilbert had 27 kills and hit .048. They only had four blocks and 20 digs for the match.
Up next, the Buccaneers take on Hope International tomorrow night Feb. 21 in Fullerton, Calif., before participating in the Westcliff University Triangular on Saturday.
