Runnion Sets Single-Season Goals Record as Bucs Tie Royals 1-1

IRVINE, Calif. --- The Park University Gilbert women's soccer team (5-9-3, 3-6-3) tied 1-1 with the Hope International University Royals (9-6-2, 6-4-2), Thursday night at the OC Great Park in Irvine, Calif.

The Buccaneers played to a 1-1 draw in this defensive struggle. The Buccaneers scored as many goals as Hope International, despite logging 17 fewer shots.

This game saw Bucs senior forward Lauren Runnion netting her 10th goal of the season in the 55th minute, setting a new school record for most goals in a season previously held by Emma Alvarez in 2023. Runnion posted two hat tricks in 2025, against Justice on Aug. 22 and Nelson-Arizona on Aug. 28.

The Royals netted the equalizer in the 82nd minute, courtesy of a score from Emma Valenzuela.

Senior Morgan Trail held down netminding duties Thursday night, picking up six saves.

With this tie, the Buccaneers now move to 0-2-1 all-time against the Royals.

The Buccaneers return to the pitch for their regular season finale this Saturday, Nov. 1 at 4:30 p.m. MST, when they face the Life Pacific University Warriors (9-8, 5-7) in Azusa, Calif.
