Bucs Wrap Up Season at GSAC Championships

GLENDALE, Ariz. --- The Park University Gilbert men's and women's cross-country teams competed in the 2025 Great Southwest Athletic Conference Championships, Friday morning at Sahuaro Ranch Park in Glendale, Ariz.

The Buccaneers men's and women's XC teams each finished in seventh place out of eight GSAC programs. The Master's University took home both conference championships, scoring 34 points on the women's side and 23 on the men's side.

The championships began with the Women's 6K event, where the Bucs posted an average time of 33:09.9. The first Park-Gilbert runner to cross the finish line was Madison Turner who placed 33rd out of 57 runners, clocking in at 28:12.7. Nardia Padilla finished shortly after, placing 42nd with a time of 31:57.6. Leighton Simmons cracked the Top-50, crossing the finish line at 34:14.8. Mallory Turner and Jaylene Agiobene placed 53rd and 54th respectively, with times of 35:41.7 and 35:42.7.

The Men's 8K event had a total of 71 runners, and the Buccaneers averaged a time of 36:05.3. Leading the way was Cole Warnick who came in 38th place clocking in at 29:18.7. Finishing shortly after Warnick was Flavian Kipoech who placed 41st at 30:40.4. Jordan Jose finished in 57th place with a time of 36.38.5. Kohl Feather and Nikolai Sawyer came in 63rd and 65th respectively, with times of 39.54.2 and 43:55.0. Brian Sparks and Owen Olney crossed the finish line clocking in at 44:58.0 and 45:35.2, placing 66th and 69th.

The Buccaneers return to the course in Fall 2026, as most of the team will gear up for the upcoming indoor and outdoor track & field season this January.
