The Park University Gilbert men's and women's cross-country teams opened their 2025 regular season with the 2025 Embry-Riddle Arizona Invitational, Saturday morning in Prescott, Ariz.
The Buccaneers competed against Great Southwest Athletic Conference foes like Embry-Riddle and Arizona Christian, as well as other community colleges in the Arizona like Coconino, Tohono O'odham, Estrella Mountain, and Glendale CC. Due to not having more than five runners in the Women's 5K or the Men's 8K events, Park-Gilbert did not receive a team score Saturday morning.
In the Women's 5K senior Madison Turner was the lone Buccaneer runner, finishing 26th out of 36 with a time of 5:01.4.
Representing Park-Gilbert in the Men's 8K were three freshmen: Cole Warnick, Flavian Kipoech, and Jordan Jose. Warnick finished 37th out of 48 with a time of 04:14.5. Kipoech and Jose finished shortly after, placing 41st and 42nd; with times of 04:33.2 and 04:37.9.
The Bucs return to the course in two weeks, as they head to California for TMU XC Invitational, hosted by The Master's University. This event will take place on Sept. 20, at Central Park in Santa Clarita, Calif.
