MESA, Ariz. --- The Park University Gilbert beach volleyball team (1-0) defeated the Justice University Lions (0-1) by a score of 5-0, Wednesday morning at Arizona Athletic Grounds in Mesa, Ariz.
The Buccaneers opened the 2026 regular season in dominant fashion, with all five pairs picking up their first win on the year.
Park-Gilbert hadn't won a season-opener since 2023, when the Bucs won 4-1 against William Carey College, a program that received votes in the NAIA Top 25 at the time. This was also the first 5-0 win for Park since 2024, when they took down Simpson on March 23.Â
Not only did the Bucs win all five pairings, but none of the matches went three sets.
